The hardest part of running Mama & Me Adventure Club

I get to meet and adventure with so many amazing families through Mama & Me Adventure Club. One of the biggest truths I share again and again is this: friendships grow from showing up regularly and creating memories together — and that definitely applies to me too.

Somewhere between muddy shoes, stroller walks, snack breaks, and trail chats, moms stop feeling like “members” and start feeling like friends. Real ones.

But then life happens. Kids get older. Preschool and school start. Schedules change. People move away.

Families naturally “graduate” from most of our adventures. And while I’m truly happy for you when that happens, it’s also the hardest part of running this club for me emotionally — letting you go.

Thankfully, there’s no shortage of new families joining and new friendships being built, and I’m so grateful for that. But that doesn’t mean the goodbyes don’t ever feel heavy.

I keep reading in business books that you should separate your life from your business. I just don’t think that’s possible in our case. This is community. This is connection. And it matters to me.

So if you’ve moved on from regular adventures with us, I want you to know that I think about you. I see the awesome adventures you’re having in the pockets of time that work for your family now. I’m happy for you — and I miss you — even if we don’t get to catch up much outside the club with everything else life holds.

Mama & Me Adventure Club is more than something I run. It’s a season of life we shared, and that stays with me. <3
